Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Jinka – Museum & Market Visit
- Meet your local guide at Jinka Airport or hotel
 - Visit the South Omo Research Center & Museum – an excellent introduction to the region’s 16+ tribes
 - Explore the Jinka local market (if it’s a market day), where Ari, Bana, and Hamar people trade goods
 - Walk through Ari village and observe traditional pottery and distilling practices
 - Overnight in Jinka (Hotel or eco-lodge)
 
Day 2: Excursion to Turmi – Visit Hamar Tribe
- Morning drive to Turmi, home of the Hamar people (approx. 2.5 hrs)
 - Visit a Hamar village and learn about their customs, dress, and social structure
 - Witness the bull-jumping ceremony (if scheduled)—a rite of passage for Hamar young men
 - Explore the beautiful countryside and interact with locals (with your guide as translator)
 - Return to Jinka for overnight
 
Day 3: Key Afer Market or Optional Mago National Park – Departure
- If it’s Thursday, visit the colorful Key Afer Market (multi-tribal gathering)
 - Optional early drive to Mago National Park to spot wildlife and visit a Mursi village (Optional, extra cost)
 - Return to Jinka, transfer to Jinka Airport for your departure flight
